Robert Wilks, 29, popularly known as “Camaro Rob” passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017 in Philadelphia. He was shot twice while driving in West Philly. Police said the shooting happened after 6 p.m. while he was driving a Dodge minivan. The shooting caused him to crash into a commercial building. He was taken to hospital but passed away shortly after arrival.
Since his passing, many on social media have been sharing their memories of him. He was said to be a kindhearted soul who was always helping others, especially at Thanksgiving.
He co-sponsored the annual Feeding Families block party where he was always seen serving food and then helping with clean-up afterwards. “Rob was a beacon of hope,” said Saleem Vanderpump, a fashion designer and author. “He was the everyday guy from the neighborhood who did good. This is a major loss,” he added.
Rob was best known for the hair enterprise he co-owned with his fiancée.
Rob will be laid to rest on Nov. 25. Our thoughts are with his fiancée and many loved ones and friends. We hope those responsible for his death are quickly brought to justice. Rest well Rob…
