Renee Cosom, a Philadelphia native, died on Monday, Jan. 29, 2018. She was 42.
She was known to many as “Big Mama,“ “Nana Bum“ and “Nay Nay.“
She was born on Nov. 2, 1975, to Adeline Hill and Eugene Cosom.
Cosom grew up in a well-loved and supportive family environment. She attended Strawberry Mansion High School.
Her family said she was smart as whip with her father’s ability to sort out people.
“Everyone deserves a second chance,” she would often say.
Cosom enjoyed the weekend “glam” and party life, but she also knew “work was work.” She was reliable, dependable and always employed.
She is survived by: her stepmother, Tina Cosom; daughters, Nicky, Mia, Tamika, Latisha, Nicole and Michelle; and other relatives and friends.
A dual mother and daughter service will held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Garden of Prayer Church, 2914 Diamond St. Burial is in White Chapel Cemetery.
