Jy’heim Price was the third youngest out of eight children. “Jy’heim was a good well-mannered young man who would come to your rescue no matter what. Jy’heim was the sweetest, funniest, caring person you would ever know. He was the peace maker of any situation and just loved family. He would stay busy so that he would not get into any trouble. Even at 20 years- old he would follow my rules and if he wasn’t at work he would not venture into the streets, his mother Latesha T. Monroe states.
Jy’heim was born and raised throughout the City of Philadelphia all of his life. He attended KIPP Charter School from middle school up until 12th grade. After graduation Jy’heim worked for a little while in the Customer Service Industry but wanted to venture into the world as an entrepreneur.
This business would be dear to his heart because he would honor his older brother Iziah Lewis who was unfortunately murdered October 29, 2016 in Perkasie Township, PA. Jy’heim would create the name of his business as I23 Auto’s LLC located throughout the city of Philadelphia.

Jy’heim took pride in his business and would ensure he had enough merchandise to sell to his customers. Jy’heim would have repeat customers as well as referrals for others to purchase cars. Many people stated it was his personality and his charismatic way of talking to others to make them feel comfortable. Jy’heim would spend hours working on cars to ensure his customers were safe in their investments. His customers would also bring their cars back to him if they were in need of repair.
Jy’heim was also getting ready expand his business to lock outs, oil changes etc, because of his love for cars. He was self- taught and would watch others, research, or YouTube to learn the art of auto mechanics in its fullest aspects. At times this would take him hours at a time to do and to learn but this was his way of staying out of the way and out of trouble.
When he needed to buy cars he would reinvest in himself by taking the money he gained by selling a car and purchasing two cars as well as doing the repairs himself.
On Thursday September 21, 2023 in around 12:13 am, Philadelphia Police officers responded to a scene at Park Avenue and Lehigh Avenue and found Jy’heim lying in the street unresponsive with multiple shots throughout his body. At this time there is a suspect in custody but if you have any additional information please contact 215-686-TIPS (8477).
As a child Jy’heim was the life of the party. He would come into a room and light it up with his sparky personality. “Jy’heim was my best friend, he and his siblings had a special bond. They were all each other best friends. If you was in a bad mood Jy’heim would do a silly dance, crack a joke, just to place a smile on your face,” recalled Latesha. “He was like Toys R Us he would turn your frown upside down.”
One of the funniest moments Latesha recalled Jy’heim and herself was playing a trick on my youngest son because he kept messing with my baby girl and wouldn’t stop. They took a doll he didn’t like and kept moving the doll throughout the house from room to room. It scared him so bad he had to sleep with his mother for two weeks after that, she chuckled while telling me that story. This is what I miss about Jy’heim he would play funny jokes on his other siblings and we would laugh. He didn’t allow anything to get him down.
Jy’heim siblings are angry at this time and are not handling things well. My youngest two children just don’t understand and stay up under me at all times. We remain a close knit family and do things to keep both of my children’s memories alive. As Jy’heim would say I’m handling Business!!!
