The city is on track to hit 500 murders in 2022. Which is why we at the Philadelphia Obituary Project, a 501(c)(3) public nonprofit charity, are asking for your support. Our mission is to tell the stories of Philadelphia’s homicide victims, and the need is greater than ever.
Victims like Levan Kennedy, 18, a gifted wordsmith who had a thirst for knowledge

Or Latoya Wright, 37, a mother of four who had a gigantic personality

Or Brian Madera, 22, a high-flying truck driver and ‘happy soul’

While we can’t erase the tragedy of gun violence, we can do our part to bring comfort to those who are suffering the loss of a loved one. But we can’t do it alone.
Not only do we need your support, we need your help to spread the word. Please tell your friends and family why you believe in our work and encourage them to support us, too.
Here are the ways you can help:
1. Give. Go to phillyobitproject.com/donate and make a contribution. We especially encourage you to become an obituary sponsor, which covers our costs toward producing one obituary.
2. Follow. Please follow us on Facebook and Instagram and share this post.
3. Spread the word. Encourage your friends and family to join you in creating real impact by sharing what our mission means to you and why you support our organization.
Thank you.
