Alex came into my life when she was 3, I had the pure pleasure of watching her grow up. She loved animals, didn’t matter what kind! One year she wanted an iguana for her birthday so we got her one, It was almost bigger than she was! Even as a child she had a smile that could light up a room. She was always strong, and when she wasn’t, she never let you know it. Her eyes were the window to her soul and you could tell what kind of mood she was in just by the light in those eyes. I used to drive alex to and from school every day for a few years, those rides will forever be cherished. She used to sit in her car seat, singing songs on the radio, sometimes making up her own words, but never afraid to belt out a tune! I remember her first crush, her first sleep over, and the time she tried to vacuum her room and caught the wall outlet on fire! We sprayed furniture polish on the floor and used to slide around the living room in our socks! As she hit her teenage years, she had a good head on her shoulders. We used to talk for hours as I cooked dinner and helped with her homework. Hanging out with her mom and I never seemed to be a burden to her, she loved to laugh and always pitched in around the house. She turned out to be a very strong woman who unfortunately had some struggles. Alex has a beautiful son and I am sure she is watching him from heaven. I hope one day he will realize how much his mom loved him. It’s been six months since Alex was brutally murdered and I’ve learned that time does not heal all pain. I pray the killer will be caught one day and be brought to justice because she deserves that. I love you Shorty.
